The 5th Yorkshire Rgt never went to Gallipoli, but the 11th Manchester's

just as the Gallipoli Campaign was starting to wind down. They left
Gallipoli on the 29th December 1915 for Mudros. Presumably transferred to
the Yorkshire Rgt in France ???

His brother Thomas also died on active service.

M.I. "Their glory shall not be blotted out". (France)

The Flixton Parish Roll of Honour lists him as serving in the 11th
