Born on the 22nd March 1897, the birth being registered during the June
quarter 1897 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/706, the son of
William & Annie Bolton (nee Tattersall).

1901 Census - "Chesham", Church Road, Urmston.   Son - aged: 4 - born:
Urmston.   Head of household - William Bolton - Married - aged: 34 - occ:
Chartered Accountanat - born: Rawtenstall, Lancashire.   Also - Annie
Bolton - Wife - aged: 32 - born: Rawtenstall.   Plus 3 siblings and 2
domestic servants.

Attended the Ackworth Boarding School of the Society of Friends, Ackworth,
Pontefract, Yorkshire between the 2nd May 1907 and the 22nd December 1910.

1911 Census - Cheltenham College, Cheltendale College Road, Cheltenham.  
Boarder - aged: 14 - Scholar - born: Urmston.    His parents, his 2 younger
brothers and 2 domestic servants were still residing at "Chesham", Church
Road, Urmston.

CWGC - Son of William & Annie Bolton of Alderley Edge, Cheshire.   Not
commemorated on the Alderley Edge Town War Memorial.
