Born during the December quarter 1894 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/808,
the son of Charles & Elizabeth Allen (nee Forsyth).

1901 Census - No Trace.

1911 Census - No Trace.

Attended Bowdon College, proud that it had 140 ex-pupils serving in the
armed forces.  Articled to Messrs. Swanwick Terras & Co., Chartered
Accountants, Manchester.

Enlisted in August 1914.   Three months later made a Bombardier.   Drafted
to the front in March 1915.   Commissioned 2nd Lt. in June 1915.

The 28/09/1915 edition of the local newspaper reports that he has been
wounded in Flanders.    This may have referred to the time when he was
wounded and was treated and recovered at the Lady Carnarvon's Hospital,
Highclere Castle, Newbury, Berkshire.    He then came home to recuperate
and put onto "Home Service".    Sent back to the front in November 1916.

Death reported in the 15/04/1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian which
stated that he had been killed whilst returning from inspecting a new
position.
