Born during the March quarter 1898 in the Newcastle upon Tyne R.D. - ref:
10b/98, the son of George Redmayne Murray M.D. & Annie Katharine Murray
(nee Bickersteth).

Victor is recorded in the "Plantagenet Roll of the Blood Royal" - Essex
Volume, that states that he was born on the 10th December 1897, the son of
George Redmayne Murray M.D. & Annie Katharine Murray (nee Bickersteth).  
The document states that Dr. Murray was from Fawdon House, Newcastle upon
Tyne.  Victor had one elder sister - Vera Christabel b.7/6/1893 and two
brothers - Ulric George b.18th October 1894 and Oswald William
b.6/10/1901.

1901 Census - 11 Ellison Place, St Andrew, Newcastle Upon Tyne.    Son -
aged: 3 - born: Newcastle upon Tyne.    Head of household - George R.
Murray - Married - aged: 35 - occ: Physician - born: Newcastle upon Tyne.  
Also - Annie K. Murray - Wife - aged: 36 - born: Liverpool.   Plus an elder
sister and an elder brother - Ulric G. Murray - aged: 6.    The family
employed 5 servants.

1911 Census - Stoke House, Stoke Green, Buckinghamshire (a private
preparatory school for Eton College and other schools).    Boarder - aged:
13 - Scholar - born: Newcastle upon Tyne.   No trace of his parents in
1911.

Commisioned 2nd Lieutenant on the 1st May 1917.

Died from gunshot wounds (Suicide) on Spike Island at Queenstown - later
renamed "COBH"

Commemorated on a private memorial plaque in St. Mary's P.C. Rostherne.

His MIC states that he was drafted to France on the 19th June 1917.  He
qualified for the two basic war medals - the BWM & the VM.  Also that his
father - Colonel George R. Murray, resided at - The Gorse, Bowdon.

His estate was valued at £1,603. 4s. 2d.

His father Colonel George Redmayne MD, (of Newcastle upon Tyne and
Mobberley) was born 20/06/1865 and his mother Annie Katherine was born
03/09/1864 and died 31/05/1953.
