Born during the September quarter 1889 in the Wigan R.D. - ref: 8c/41, the
son of Thomas & Ann Law (nee Foster).

1891 Census - 115 Caroline Street, Wigan, Lancashire.     Son - aged: 1 -
born: Wigan.    Head of household - Thomas Law - Married - aged: 35 - occ:
Watchmaker - born: Manchester.  Also - Ann Law - Wife - aged: 36 - born:
Wigan, Lancashire.  Plus 2 elder siblings.

1901 Census - 19 Back Wallshaw Street, Oldham.   Son - (listed as John
Willie) - aged: 11 - born: Wigan, Lancashire.    Head of household - Thomas
Law - Married - aged: 45 - occ: Watchmaker - born: Manchester.  Also - Ann
Law - Wife - aged: 45 - born: Ashton, Lancashire. (Ashton in Makerfield
???).   Plus 2 brothers, the youngest - Ernest will later be required to
identify his brother's body.

1911 Census - 9 Partington Street, Oldham.   Son - aged: 21 - occ:
Insurance Agent - born: Wigan, Lancashire.  Head of household - Ann Law -
aged: 54 - born: Wigan, Lancashire.  Plus his yougest brother - Ernest.

CWD Report No. 45.   Died as a result of blast at the East Union Street
Police Station from where his bodywas recovered at 13.00 hrs on the 24th
December 1940 and taken to the City Road Mortuary, Old Trafford.    His
body was identified by his younger brother - Ernest Law, 19 Abbotsford
Road, Oldham and released for burial to A. Ashton (Undertakers) 61
Yorkshire Street, Oldham.   Described as being 5 feet 10 inches in height
with light coloured hair and fresh complexion.   Employed as a Police War
Reserve.

One of six Police Officers killed when a Land Mine fell onto the East Union
Street Police Station, Old Trafford  on the first night of the Manchester
Christmas Blitz.   Four were killed instantly - two died a few days later.

Death registered in Stretford Borough.    Buried on 30/12/1940.
