Born during the September quarter 1892 in the Fulham R.D. - ref: 1a/191,
the son of Herbert Guy & Annie Maria Blount (nee Worman).

1901 Census - 19 Hyde Grove, Sale.   Son - aged: 8 - born: Hammersmoith,
London.   Head of household - Herbert Blount - Married - aged: 33 - occ:
Book Binder - Gold Blocker - born: London, Middlesex.   Also - Annie Blount
- Wife - aged: 34 - born: Kensington, London.   Plus 4 siblings.

The family must have moved to Manchester from London c1897.

Attended St. Josephs School.      Employed at the Westinghouse Works,
Trafford Park

Pioneers Bn.   'D' Company (Northwich) - landed at Le Havre on the 15th
February 1915.

Later moving to 35 Hope Road, Sale.

Taking part in the Battle of the Somme 1916, the battalion moved from
Souastre and took part in attack on Gommecourt on the 1st July 1916,
sustaning (203 casualties.  Bn remained working in the area until moved to
Doullens 20/08; Hiermont 22/08; St. Riquier 23/08; Corbie 04/09; Citadel
Camp 06/09; Contour Wood 07/09; Dug communication trench across Death
Valley to the recently captured Leuze Wood 08/09; Faviier Wood 14/09.

MIC - Posted to France on the 12th February 1915.  Awarded the 1915 Star,
the BWM & VM.   Comemmorated on both St. Joseph's (Sale) and Metro-Vicker's
memorials.

Death reported in the 06/10/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.
