Born Henry Horace Crowther during the September quarter 1894 in the
Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/175, the son of Samuel & Emma Crowther.

The family moved from Nottingham to Sale around 1893.  Listed as Harry
Crowther on the census returns.

1901 Census - 52 Egerton Street, Sale.   Son - aged: 7 - born: Sale.   Head
of household - Samuel Crowther - Married - aged: 45 - occ: Gardener (Not
domestic) - born: Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.    Also - Emma Crowther - Wife
- aged: 33 - born: Moulton, Lincolnshire.   Plus 3 younger siblings.

1911 Census - 46 Egerton Street, Sale.   Son - aged: 17 - occ: Butcher's
Errand Boy - born: Sale.   Head of household - Emma Crowther - Married -
aged: 43 - born: Moulton, Lincolnshire.   Plus 3 siblings.  No trace of his
father - Samuel Crowther.

Attended Springfield School.   Employed at the Westinghouse Works, Trafford
Park.

His mother married Frederick Pimlatt early in 1916.

Death reported in the 18/07/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.  
Killed by a machine gunner in the street of a village.
