quarter 1896 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/183, the son of John & Mary
Ellen McDonald (nee Gill).     [No evidence that John McDonald was his
birth father].

His mother Mary Ellen Gill married John McDonald during the December
quarter 1896 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/326.

McDonald.   Son - aged: 4 - born: Sale.    Head of household - John
McDonald - Married - aged: 32 - occ: Highway Labourer - born:  Ireland.  
Also Mary Ellen McDonald - Wife - aged: 24 - born: Manchester.   Plus 1
younger brother - John McDonald - aged: 3 - born: Sale.

Death reported in the 04/05/1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.
