David William Hiller) aged; 30 - occ: Insurance Clerk - born: Manchester.  
Head of household - Albert Hiller - Married - aged: 68 - occ: Cashier -
born: Sheffield, Yorkshire.    Also - Rachel Hiller - Wife - aged: 61 -
born: Manchester.    Plus 1 younger daughter & 1 domestic servant.

Enlisted in the Public Schools Battalion, Royal Fusiliers on the 6th August
1914, commissioned in April 1916.     Fought at the Battle of the Somme.

Died of Shell Shock & Trench Fever, contracted in France.     Buried
19/11/1918 - Burial No. 15,764.    Firing party of 40 men.

His brother, Rudolf Hiller died in April 1916.    Neither he nor his
brother are listed on SDGW.

Death reported in the 22/11/19 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

Medical Records of Queen Alexandra's Military Hospital, Millbank - Admitted
to hospital on the 7th February 1917, discharged on the 23rd February 1917,
suffering from a Carbuncle.   Complete years of service: 2 years 6 months.

Awarded a Sliver War  Badge on the 22nd April 1918.   His address was then
"Talbryn", Albert Road, Whalley Range, Manchester.

Ministry of Pensions (Army) - Disability Retired Pay, Gratuities, etc. -
No.6320a - Date of Warrant: 4th April 1918. From the 3rd March 1918 to the
4th August 1918 he was awarded a pension of £105.  From the 5th August
1918 to the 23rd January 1919 he was awarded a pension of £70.   His
attorney was Arthur L. Tomlinson, Clough House, Blair Road, Alexandra Park,
Manchester.

Manchester Evening News - 16th & 18th November 1918 editions.   Died at the
Lohn Leigh Memorial Home, Brooklands as the result of shell shock and
trench fever, contracted in France.  Youngest son of Mr. & Mrs. Albert
Hiller of Talbryn, Whalley Range.

Listed as W.D. Hiller by the CWGC.
