Joined the Metro-Vicker's Company as a Probationary College Apprentice in October 1934 and became a School Apprentice in October 1935. On completion of his apprenticeship in Novemebr 1936 he joined the Motor Sales Department. Joined the Indian Army Ordnance Corps as a Lieutenant in April 1940, later posted to the Far East and promoted to the rank of Major. Died whilst a Prisoner of War in Thailand in 1943.
