Born during the March quarter 1896 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/733, the son of Arthur & Sarah Jane Forbes (nee Goodhead). 1901 Census - 76, Urmston Lane, Stretford. Son - aged:5 - born: Stretford. Head of household - Arthur Forbes - Married - aged: 36 - occ: Letter Press Printer - born: Scotland. Also Sarah J. orbes - Wife - aged:33 - born: Manchester. Plus 2 younger sisters, his maternal grandfather and 1 boarder. 1911 Census - 37 Park Road Stretford. Son - aged: 15 - occ: Office Boy in Shipping Office - born>: Manchester - now listed as Stuart Henry. Head of household - Sarah J Forbes - Widow - aged: 44 - occ: Boarding House Keeper - born: Manchester. Plus 3 younger siblings and 3 boarders. Employed by Messrs. Jaffe, Shippers, Princess St, Manchester. A patrol leader in the 1st Longford Boy Scouts. Killed whilst acting as a volunteer stretcher bearer. Death reported in the 29th June 1915 edition of the Altrincham Guardian. Memorial Service held at the Stretford Congregational Church. His uncle Mr. J.W. Goodhead received a letter from the Baden Powell Boy Scout HQ. | |||
