Born during the September quarter 1896 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/170, the son of David & Maria Matilda Luck (nee Edwards). 1901 Census - 6 Offa Terrace, Bersham, Denbighshire. Son - aged: 4 - born: Sale. Head of household - David Luck - Married - aged: 36 - occ: Laundry Vanman - born: Boxmin, Hertfordshire Also - Maria Luck - Wife - aged: 35 - born: Moss, Denbighshire. Plus 4 siblings - 3 of them born at Sale. 1911 Census - 17 Rhos Street, Ruthin, Denbighshire. Son - aged: 14 - occ: Telegraph Messenger - born: Sale. Head of household - David Luck - Married - aged: 46 - occ: Coachman Domestic - born Two Rivers, Hertfordshire. Also - Maria Luck - Wife - aged: 46 - born: Brake Broughton. Plus 4 siblings - the eldest was also born at Sale. Although born at Sale, c1900 the family moved to Wrexham and then Ruthin. He is not commemorated on the Ruthin Town Memorial, so perhaps the family had moved on again by the time he was killed? Pension Records - Dependant - Mother - Mrs M. Luck, Railway View, Brymbo, nr Wrexham, Wales. This was later transferred to his father - Mr. David Luck. Awarded a weekly pension of 8/4d w.e.f. the 4th April 1917. |
