Born in Manchester or Chorlton in 1905, the son of James & Elizabeth Lyons (nee Tomlinson). 1911 Census - 15 Glass Street, Hulme, Manchester. Son - aged: 6 - Scholar - born: Manchester. Head of household - James Lyons - Married - aged: 32 - occ: Carter General Carrier - born: Manchester. Also - Elizabeth Lyons - Wife - aged: 38 - born: Manchester. Plus 4 sisters. Married Catherine Burns during the June quarter 1925 in the Manchester South R.D. - ref: 8d/451. 1939 National Registration - No Trace. CWD Report No, 49. Died as a result of blast and falling debris at 397 Chester Road, Gorse Hill, Stretford, from where his body was recovered at 15.15 hrs on the 23rd December 1940 and taken to the City Road Mortuary, Stretford. His body was identified by his wife - Catherine Lyons and relesed for burial to Mrs. Law (Undertakers), York Street, Hulme. Described as being 5 feet 6 inches in height. Employed as a Carter.
