Born 24/03/1912, the eldest daughter of George Corbie & Martha Elizabeth Oldfield (nee Leigh). 1911 Census - Her parents lived at the School House, Ashton on Mersey. George was aged: 50 - employed by Cheshire C.C. as a Trained Certificated Teacher and born at Chester. (birth registered as CORBIN) His wife - Martha Elizabeth was aged: 38 and was born at Ashton on Mersey. They had been married for 7 years with no children. Commemorated on the family gravestone in St. Martin's Ref: 3.111. Her father George died 22/03/1927 and her mother Martha, died 18/05/1930. | |||
