Born at Knock, Co. Down, Ireland in 1898, the son of John & Mary Quinn. 1901 Census - No Trace. 1911 Census - Highfields Garden Thelwall Near Warrington, Cheshire. Son - aged: 18 - Scholar - born: Knock, Co. Down, Ireland. Head of househod - John Quinn - Married - aged: 43 - occ: Gardener (Domestic) - born: Tubrict, Co. Tipperary, Ireland. Also - Mary Quinn - Wife - aged: 43 - born: Pittown, Co. Killkenney, Ireland. Plus 2 younger brothers, both born at Eccles. Died between 21st and 31st March 1918. SDGW states that he was born in Knock, Co. Down and enlisted in Altrincham. M.I. - "Nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matt XXXVI. 39". Pension Record - Dependent - Mary Quinn (Mother), 17 Byrom Street, Altrincham. Awarded a weekly pension of 9/6d w.e.f. the 9th December 1918. |
