son of George Edwin & Ann Woodward (nee Dawson) .   Baptised at St.
Margaret's P.C. Altrincham on the 11th September 1887.

Fought in the British retreat from Mons to the Aisne and La Bassee.

Died of wounds from an explosive bullet.   Death reported in the 18th June
1915 edition of the Altrincham Guardian which states that he was serving
with the 1st Bn. Cheshire Rgt.

Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1916, which states
that he was serving with the 1st Bn. Cheshire Rgt.
