Born during the September quarter 1912 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/1268, the son of Eugene Charles & Emily Mary Ruddin (nee McCann) B.A., A.C.A, Barrister-at-Law. Nephew of Leo G. Ruddin of Wilmslow. CWGC & SDGW both state that he was a 2nd Lt. Sale R.U.F.C. centenary book lists him as a Lieutenant. 1st team centre three-quarter season 1936/37 and continued to play until he joined the Army in April 1940.  | |||
