Born during the December quarter 1897 in the Prestwich R.D. - ref: 8d/445, the son of Arthur Spencer & Fanny Selina Elizabeth Garner (nee Plumridge). 1901 Census - 24 Moss Road, Urmston. Son - aged: 3 - born: Moston, Manchester. Head of household - Arthur S. Garner - Married - aged: 36 - occ: Buckram Hat & Bonnet Merchant - born: Weaste, Salford. Also Fanny S.E. Garner - Wife - aged: 35 - born: London, Middlesex. Plus 3 siblings and his maternal grandfather. Moved to Ash Villa, Park Road, Ashton upon Mersey early 1905. 1911 Census - Park Road, Ashton upon Mersey. Son - aged: 13 - Scholar - born: Manchester. Head of household - Arthur Spencer Garner - Married - aged: 46 - occ: Hat & Bonnet Manufacturer - born: Weaste, Salford. Also Fanny Selina Elizabeth Garner - Wife - aged: 45 - born: London, Middlesex. Plus 5 siblings. Arthur & Fanny has 9 children, but lost 3 of them.
